Submissions

Submission Guidelines

All Sheridan students are encouraged to submit their creative pieces for a chance to be featured in the Creative Corner of our newsmagazine!

Guidelines

Submissions will be accepted monthly and must adhere to that month’s creative theme. Submissions may include art, design, video, photography, and creative writing (short stories, poetry, personal essays). Word limits for writing are as follows:

  • Fiction, creative writing: 800-2000 words
  • Poetry: 100-200 words
  • Nonfiction, creative writing: 500-1000 words

Review our Style Guide and the monthly theme!

To submit your work, email serendipity@sheridancollege.ca with the subject line Submission: [CREATIVE THEME] – [YOUR NAME] – [CREATIVE TYPE/GENRE].

Example: Submission: CHANGE – John Smith – Fiction Creative Writing

Please attach creative writing in DOCX, images in PNG, and videos in MP4 or MOV. Ensure the name of the file is as follows: NAME_CREATIVE THEME_CREATIVE TYPE/GENRE. For writing, please do not include your name as author in the document, only in the file name; this ensures there is no conflict of interest and gives every submission a fair chance.

Please send in your creative submissions using your Sheridan student email.

SUBMISSION LIMIT: Two submissions MAXIMUM per student per month. Choose wisely!
